After being told by your state that you need SR22 insurance, one of the first questions we receive from our customers is, “How can I lower my SR-22 insurance?” during the quoting process or after receiving their final numbers. With over 50 years of experience, we have learned a thing or two about how our insureds can lower their current policy. Here are five tips that work to lower your SR-22 insurance policy:
Improve Your Driving Record: Maintaining a clean driving record can help reduce your SR-22 insurance premiums.

Take a Defensive Driving Course: The DMV may offer defensive driving courses. These courses teach road safety techniques, remind drivers of traffic laws and regulations, and help them manage hazards while driving. Once completed, some insurance providers may provide a discount.
Raise Your Deductible: Raising your deductible on your SR-22 policy can lower your monthly installments. However, if you get into an accident or have to make a claim, you must pay the amount of your deductible up front before your insurance covers the remainder.

Talk to Your Insurer: Call your current SR-22 provider and ask them ways that you can lower your SR-22 policy. The customer service representatives at insurance companies are extremely knowledgeable and can provide you with advice and guidance on how to lower the cost of your current policy, if they are able to.
Look for Discounts: Some insurance companies offer discounts to their customers. We highly recommend you call your provider, as they can assist you, as we are unable to provide discounts on behalf of the insurer.
